Die Grellung

July 26 – September 6, 2025

On Friday, July 25, the solo “Die Grellung” [The Gleaming] opens at Goldstein Galerie, featuring works by the artist Selbermann. For many years, Selbermann has been working on an ongoing biographical project: a kind of visual thought journal in which all the places, landscapes, and buildings he has visited – and all the people he has met – find their place. Through drawings, paintings, sculptures, photographs, and a growing collection of souvenirs, these memories and experiences are distilled into a complex artistic body of work.

The exhibition focuses on towers. Multi-sided cardboard panels become multidimensional sculptures, and audio recordings of the artist’s stories transform into an auditory journey.

Selbermann’s language is infused with poetic constructs, shaping terms such as the exhibition’s title Die Grellung—towers of the city in the blinding light of the sun.
