For over 50 years, Hans-Jörg Georgi has been creating large multi-story cardboard airplanes. These flying ships are designed for a very special moment: the day when Earth is no longer inhabitable. On that day, they will serve humanity as escape vehicles into a new, eternal future. Georgi’s works create a world beyond the present, where imagination and technology merge into a hopeful means of salvation.
His works are featured in the collections of institutions such as the Museum of Everything (London) and the Centre Georges Pompidou (Paris). The exhibition showcases both his sculptures and accompanying drawings, created over the years.
