Artist Perihan Arpacilar has passed away on June 10th 2022.
Perihan Arpacilar was a fascinating artist. In her extensive oeuvre, she primarily worked on portraits of people in her immediate environment or of personalities she admired. In her works, the special handling of ink as a fluid material became formative for her pictorial language. Using flowing pigments on paper, she created portraits with a strong and deep presence. Perihans Arpacilar’s power, concentration and warmth are extended within her paintings. We are grateful for the intense time we were able to experience with her as a person and an artist at Atelier Goldstein.
