As part of a joint workshop, several artists from Atelier Goldstein visited kathe:k Kunsthaus in Cologne to explore questions around digital visibility.
At the heart of the exchange were current strategies for presenting artistic work on social media – with a particular focus on Instagram.
Key questions discussed included:
What role does social media play for artists today?
What does “public” mean in the digital space?
How can Instagram be used meaningfully to make one’s artistic practice more accessible to a wider audience?
What creative and technical tools are available to communicate content effectively?
Another focus was the distinction between individual artist accounts and institutional profiles – such as that of Atelier Goldstein. Participants explored potential synergies and how both perspectives can be meaningfully connected.
Two intensive days of productive exchange provided space for discussion, reflection, and hands-on experimentation. Artists and representatives from both institutions presented their working methods and tested technical solutions using professional equipment. The workshop helped strengthen a self-determined and purposeful use of digital media tools in the everyday life of artistic practice.
