In his works, Dustin Eckhardt creates places and spaces that oscillate between reality and the surreal. He combines international metropolises with fantastic urban spaces, unites different eras of the USS Enterprise into a contemporary fleet or redesigns the opulent interior of Peter Lustig’s trailer. The use of simple working tools such as coloured pencils forms a strong contrast to the multi-layered levels of meaning in the pictures. Eckhardt is both observer and architect: from his memory and imagination he reconstructs these places from a bird’s eye view. Born in Bad Soden am Taunus in 1999, he lives and works in Neuenhain and Frankfurt am Main.
