With the exhibition “First Entry,” the Offenbach Kunsthalle will open its doors for the very first time. The show will feature recent works by artists from HfG Offenbach, including Juewen Zhang.
A passionate admirer of Vans shoes, Zhang expresses his enthusiasm in an extraordinary way: his paper-crafted Vans models, measuring over eight meters in length, quite literally step toward the audience. One of these large-scale models, along with Vans-themed drawings and objects, will be on display in the exhibition.
The new Kunsthalle aims to be an open, creative space for contemporary art, fostering an interdisciplinary and globally minded dialogue that celebrates the cultural diversity of the local art scene.
The Offenbach Kunsthalle is curated by a team of young artists as part of the Experimental Spatial Concepts program led by Prof. Heiner Blum at HfG Offenbach. This initiative expands upon the Diamant / Museum für Urbane Kultur projects in a self-directed manner.
