The Library of Generations is an artistic commemorative project initiated by Sigrid Sigurdsson and brought to life by over 200 authors. With a timeline spanning 105 years (2000–2105), the project is designed to transcend generations.
The contributors to the Library of Generations include individuals, institutions, groups, and initiatives writing on a wide variety of topics. The contributions range from autobiographical works to artistic pieces and scientific studies. Selected contributions or themes are regularly presented in dedicated events.
In 2021, Julius Bockelt was added as an author and witness of his time. His contribution will be presented on November 13, 2024: a specially created leporello featuring biographical texts and photographs of his artistic work, which is closely tied to Frankfurt. During the presentation evening, Bockelt will provide insights into his biography and his closely connected Cloud Archive. Since his childhood, he has observed the skies over Frankfurt am Main and will speak about cloud formations and phenomena using his photographs. The evening will conclude with an improvised musical performance by Superposition, a collaboration between Julius Bockelt and Sven Fritz.
