The Belgian art and cultural center Wit.h initiated the project Sottobosco. A key part of this art project is a long-term collaboration between artists Franz von Saalfeld and Klaas Rommelaere.
In June 2024, Belgian artist Klaas Rommelaere traveled to Atelier Goldstein in Frankfurt for a residency. In November, Franz von Saalfeld followed as a guest at Wit.h in Kortrijk (Belgium) to continue the collaboration with Klaas Rommelaere. Together, the two artists are working on a large-scale artwork: Franz von Saalfeld created an expansive drawing on textile, which Klaas Rommelaere is now further developing. Rommelaere combines traditional knitting techniques with contemporary influences in his process.
The collaborative work will be presented in an exhibition at the conclusion of the project. Further details will be announced.
