“Refresh” presents selected contemporary perspectives by young artists from diverse artistic and national backgrounds.
The world currently finds itself in a state where one would ideally like to simply hit a “refresh” button. In this sense, a refresh would mean breaking free from the multiple crises that reach us daily through the media. For some, these crises profoundly alter their lives, bringing urgent questions to the forefront:
How can we make sense of our present? Where can we find resources for resilience? How can we navigate a reeling world while still preserving joy and vitality? Do we have the agency to “refresh” our current situation? And what role does contemporary art play in this endeavor to revitalize our hopes and visions?
In addition to works by Goldstein artists Tina Herchenröther and Juewen Zhang, the exhibition features the following artists: Ju Aichinger, Katya Frei, Enrique Harm, Sigmund Hutter, June Hwajung, Hanne Jannasch, Mariella Lehner, Linou Meyer, Natalie Neumaier, Robert Puteanu, and Yao Wang.
