As part of the art parcours “Terra Incognita” by the Ardi Goldman Foundation on the Union Areal in Frankfurt, a work by Goldstein artist Markus Schmitz is on view. The parcours brings together over 70 artistic positions from a wide range of backgrounds, generations, and perspectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Markus Schmitz works with the technique of papercutting, which he has developed into a contemporary means of artistic expression. His pieces begin as complex drawings, which he transforms into precise cut-outs through a two-step abstraction process. For the presentation within the parcours, a cut-out originally created from paper has, for the first time, been translated into a weather-resistant metal installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
