This technique isn\u2019t commonly deployed in contemporary art although impressive international works regularly appear in exhibitions. Implementing a folkloristic ornamental style, these works usually come from Asia and their meticulously crafted decorative motifs are mostly symmetrical. Schmitz, while employing this technique, has developed his own style through inverting the negative and positive areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From June 26th, Markus Schmitz&#8217;s works will be on show for the first time in a solo exhibition at Heussenstamm.
